WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A DATA SPECIALIST?

That's the group of people who enter the judges marks into the computer and print out all of the results. They deal with the paperwork involved in a competition.

It's a fun volunteer position in a great sport!  If you are interested in becoming a Data Specialist please contact Megan Sutherland, Data Specialist Representative for Okanagan Region.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A FIGURE SKATING JUDGE/EVALUATOR?

Judges/evaluators are former skaters.  Candidates who wish to become qualified to judge/evaluate must attend Skate Canada approved clinics, trial judge and pass both a written and video identification exam at each level. Each discipline of skating, singles, pair, dance and synchronized skating requires individualized training.

Training will begin with attendance at a Star 1-4 Clinic. Contact your Region Training Representative listed on the Judges Committee list if you are interested in pursuing this rewarding volunteer activity.

Where Judges Start

A judge will progress through the system starting as a Star 1-4 judge in STAR categories, at the same time being trained as an evaluator for Intermediate STARSkate tests. While judges officiate at competitions, evaluators assess skills at test days, working with the skaters and coaches applying test standards to the skaters performance.
